This puts Pilot Group at the forefront of a key societal changes where we believe we cantruly make a difference for the better.If you are passionate about making a difference to our environment, and have a skill set that encompass much of the below, we encourage you to apply.Job Description - Senior Software Engineer:As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be expected to work on the Net Zero EMS system and its accompanying Infrastructure. You will have commercial experience within a fast-paced development environment and are passionate about delivering robust, best-in-classapplications. You will also be responsible for training and developing junior members of the team and ensuring best practices are always adhered to, which will ensure quality is maintained across the microservices and products.What will you be doing:You will be a key technical subject matter expert for the EMS division, with detailed technical understanding of our product offering. You will be responsible for leading the delivery of roadmap items that will enhance the product, such as the delivery ofnew features and services. You will also support customer issue triage, installation support and product issue investigation and resolution.Responsibilities:· Design, develop and maintain the EMS service· Work with the marketing and sales teams to develop new market-led features.· Provide 3rd line support to our field engineers· Create and maintain application documentation and user guides· Design and build custom Linux based OSs for embedded devices ( BuildRoot / Yocto etc )· Identify problems and risks within the product and recommend solutions· Identify new Technologies that may be beneficial to the solution· AWS infrastructure and OpenVPN· Train and develop junior members of the teamWhat we are looking for:· Passion for energy savings and societal transition to net zero· A clear communicator who can cut through technical jargon· Proven technical capability that is reliable and of a high quality· A professional approach with the ability to multi-task· Organised, reliable and self-motivated· The potential to become a key subject matter expert within the group· Good knowledge of the electrical installation, the energy market and control systemsExpected Skills:· Excellent JavaScript (Node.JS) and React.· Excellent Source control software (GIT), and Git Flow work flow.· Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.· Understanding and knowledge of TypeScript, Docker and Python· Knowledge and experience of Cloud (AWS and Azure).Desirable Skills:· A working knowledge of TypeScript is advantageous· Knowledge of MongoDB development skills and Administration would be desirable· Good Linux System Administration skills· Infrastructure management using Terraform and Orchestration software (SaltStack, Ansible, Chef etc)· Monitoring the ecosystem using ELK stack· Self-motivated with a proactive mindset· Flexible and pragmatic· Team worker who supports their colleagues· HVAC knowledge· Able to communicate actions and plans to team, senior management and customersWhat’s in it for you:· Holidays: 25 per year with option to purchase up to 3 more· Hybrid working approach· An ambitious company looking to grow and develop· A company dedicated to improving our world through environmental sustainability· A fun, social and collaborative team· Facilitation of a learning and development environmentRecruitment Agencies;The Pilot Group operates a strict PSL and will not accept any unsolicited CVs sent to any member, employee, representative or business unit of the Pilot Group.
