Job Description

Title: Senior Scientific Academic OfficerLocation: North West, with remote home working.Permanent position, with great benefits, flexible working and a highly competitive salary.Search Scientific are currently working with a well established, engaging scientific organisation based in heart of the North West. This organisation pride them selves on providing the highest level of research into the field of oncology and work collaboratively with a wide range of industries and academic professionals.As a Senior Scientific Academic Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the organisation with their oncology research. Youll be liaising with various academics and industrial professionals across a wide background. Often being responsible for communicating scientific information, to non scientific individuals. Youll be often be looking over highly technical, scientific publications and articles to gain an understanding around improvements on new oncology diagnosis and treatments.Other daily responsibilities will include;

  • Collaborating with external organisation around new technological developments which focus on the oncological treatments & detections.
  • Working along side senior external stakeholders to drive change and improvement processes around radiotherapy services around the UK.
  • To quickly analyse and process scientific data to determine key trends and results, draft, prepare and edit reports, manuscripts for scientific publication, and oversee submissions
  • To oversee collaborative projects, both national and international to allow timely progression
  • Consulting private organisations on various projects which may include radiotherapy techniques, imagery diagnostics and many, many more.
  • Key Requirements for this position;
  • Be educated to PhD level or equivalent within a Biochem/Biologics/Oncology or similar fields.
  • Strong industrial experience, ideally working within a commercial organisation such as a Contract Research/Development organisation.
  • Great communication skills, able to translate scientific information to non scientific individuals.
  • Strong written communications, able to translate and write, professional scientific papers.
