Job Description

Apply now to become their Senior Ruby Engineer.Senior Ruby Engineer - Manchester (Hybrid / UK Remote) - £65,000 - TechnologyWe are looking for a self-motivated and passionate senior Ruby engineer who shares our clients values in collaboration, creativity, and innovative ideas to work alongside their existing team on exciting projects. You will join a team of 3 backend developersworking in 1-week sprints. Working with our client would allow you to get full end-to-end responsibility for part of the platform.Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the rest of the development team to design and develop new backend features.
  • Writing and maintaining reliable Ruby code.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining APIs.
  • Write clean, optimised code with full test coverage to meet both technical and consumer needs.
  • Pair programming with other developers on the team.
Required experience
  • Ruby.
  • SQL - they use PostgreSQL.
  • Software development fundamentals; how to structure programmes and decompose problems and when to apply patterns.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred experience
  • AWS Serverless.
  • Practical knowledge of provisioning and orchestration tools - they use Terraform.
  • Experience with Kafka and microservices architecture.
