* Senior Quantity Surveyor* Manchester (Hybrid)* Competitive salary + benefits packageSenior Quantity Surveyor ManchesterCompetitive salary + car allowance & excellent benefits package with hybrid workingCompany OverviewOur client is a well established, international, innovative national real estate building consultancy, with offices in Manchester and other key UK cities who work with a variety of high calibre and long-standing clients.They are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Manchester team to help guide clients and professional teams on a number of exciting and iconic projects across the UK.Project Sectors:Being a leading QS Practice they have many interesting projects to get involved with including: multiple place making master plans (£200 million), the new build of 2 major hospitals, the development of new life science and advanced manufacturing facilities,hyper-scale data centres, amazon logistics hubs, large residential developments, major defence projects for the MOD, commercial office (new build and fit out) for prestigious clients.Moving internationally is also an option once established in the team as they have one of the worlds best global mobility programs that many have taken advantage of. The RoleThe ideal candidate will be working with leading contractors, architects and engineers to make sure the client and contractor deliver the best value for money - advising all parties on the best solutions from a qualitative and commercial perspective.They are looking for individuals with a keen interest and a good knowledge of construction, who possess an outgoing / collaborative approach.Key Accountabilities:* Assisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports* Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan* Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage* Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes* Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place* Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client* Inputting into value engineering* Negotiating and agreeing final accounts* Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages* Where appropriate, leading a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilitiesExperience and Skills:* A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management / quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle* Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)* Degree or HNC level qualification desired.* Ability to successfully manage and prioritise more than one project at a time.This is a great opportunity to join a growing business with an exciting pipeline of work.For more information and to have a confidential conversation about the role please apply now by submitting your CV or contact Florence Ingram at Tempest Jones.
