Senior Philanthropy ManagerLocation: Based at the Christie charity, Manchester with remote working flexibilitySalary: £39,096 - £50,056 (depending on experience)Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per weekContract: PermanentAre you looking to use your fundraising skills to help improve the lives of cancer patients and fund research to create better outcomes for those diagnosedCharity People are pleased to be partnering with The Christie Charity to recruit a Senior Philanthropy Manager to join a vibrant, passionate team and support the development of their major donor strategy.About the CharityThe Christie Charity supports the renowned Christie hospital ensuring cancer patients receive the highest level of treatment and care. Patients have access to world leading research and technology, ensuring the best possible experience and outcomes. Thisfunding provides over and above what the NHS can provide.Some brilliant key projects have included building a new scanning centre, further researching breast cancer, and redeveloping the radiology department. As well as this, funding supports the treatment provided to cancer patients, including complementary therapies,bringing local blood testing closer to home for patients, and providing wigs to patients whose treatment causes hair loss.About the RoleAn important part of the Christies funding comes from high-net-worth individuals who support the charity on a long-term basis. As Senior Philanthropy Manager, your role is to maximise charitable income through building strong and authentic relationshipswith these HNWIs. With some lovely campaigns and events in the pipeline there will be lots of opportunity to really develop your portfolio of donors.Youll also be responsible for developing the major donor strategy, with the support of the Head of Philanthropy. This role will involve lots of collaboration, including with the wider philanthropy team, in order to deliver successful fundraising initiativesto reach your targets. Youll also be involved in planning and monitoring a programme of fundraising events and activities.About YouTo be successful in this role, youll have significant major donor/philanthropy or corporate fundraising experience or equivalent sales experience. Youll be a strong leader, with exceptional emotional intelligence and negotiation and networking skills aswell as being an excellent relationship builder who can identify and generate ways of maximising income.Youll have experience with managing budgets and targets and will be confident researching using a diverse range of printed and IT sources.
