Job Description

MVP Recruitment is an established Financial Services recruitment firm working with many of the top financial advisory firms in the industry nationwide.Our client is a growing IFA firm with a head office based in the heart of West London, with other offices based in Surrey and Manchester. They cater to all aspects of financial planning, with specialties in Investments, Pensions and Trust Planning. The firmhas some very strong connections with accounting firms and legal practices, and mainly deal with HNW/UHNW individuals. They also have a discretionary fund manager with various portfolio options.They are very much a client-centric firm and are undergoing an exciting phase of growth and expansion, with some exciting propositions that very much favour and promote career development.The Manchester office are looking to bring on a Senior Paraplanner/Paraplanning Manager to join their team who will help maximise the effective running of the paraplanner team for the business and to support the achievement of the organisation goals andobjectives as required. The incoming individual would be working with and supporting the effectiveness of financial advisors within the business. The ideal paraplanner would also be attending client meetings with the advisor and gaining solid practical experienceas well as delivering solid technical skills.The practice offers good benefits, a discretionary performance-based bonus, career progression, and a very good work/life balance.The client is willing to pay up to £50,000/Annum plus benefits, depending on experience for the right individual.Responsibilities

  • The position would suit an experienced individual who would be required to analyse clients needs to the highest level and write client reports.
  • The position requires good technical knowledge in Pension Switching and Transfers, investment portfolios, and an awareness of financial markets.
  • The role also involves attending Investment and Pension Committees; and managing, developing, and training a Technical Team within the business.
  • The role is challenging, requiring someone who can interact directly with the Management team and staff and provide first class financial advice support to the firms advisors.
  • They will provide a pooled resource to approx. 4-5 Advisors. Clients are ultra-high net worth individuals. Business owners, Inherited wealth.
  • Main point of contact and support to all Advisors regarding the firms clients personal financial planning needs.
  • Development of relationships with third party providers and fund management firms is also a key part of this role.

Requirements
  • Level 4 qualified in Financial Planning (DipFA, DipPFS, CISI IAD with Financial Planning), or part qualified and completing exams. The ideal individual would be level 6 qualified or working towards that (the firm would provide support in this regard).
  • MUST be proficient in the use of Intelligent Office (iO)
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills.
  • Broad experience of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Manages time effectively with the ability to multitask.
  • Keeps calm when faced with conflicting demands and handles these effectively.
  • Open to change with a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Always demonstrates a positive attitude.
  • Works well on own tasks as well as on shared goals as part of a team.
