Job Description

Senior Packaging ManagerLocation: Newton Aycliffe or London (Home based with regular site travel may be an option for the right candidate) Salary: Negotiable based on experience, 6% bonus plus other exceptional benefitsINEOS Hygienics: The newest business within the portfolio is INEOS Hygienics. The healthcare value chain requires fast-moving producers such as INEOS to develop, make and distribute products essential to protecting the health and well-being of people. Whether in times of crisis or in less turbulent times, healthcare, institutional and consumer markets rely on getting safe and effective products fast into the hands of those that can benefit.The ability to deal with high demand during health emergencies, as well as assure reliable on-going availability of effective products creates goodwill along the value chain and provides an opportunity to develop long-term business.In this context, the expertise of INEOS in chemicals and materials combined with the companys entrepreneurial flair, has always played an important role in its success. This is evidenced by the companys ability to enter new markets such as automotive and sports, and, most recently, to reformat existing operations in response to the shortage of hand sanitisers in the UK, France, Germany and the US.The Unit:The speed and effectiveness of its venture into sanitiser products has led INEOS executives to use this experience to enter healthcare-related product-markets. The objective is to make use of the inherent capabilities, skills and culture of INEOS to establish a sustainable core for a new consumer healthcare business.The unit will produce and market a range of INEOS-branded hygiene products for consumers. The products will be positioned to appeal to specific consumer segments based on defined needs and a compelling value proposition. The range will be marketed with brand values, quality and price that stimulates consumer demand and result in uptake through traditional retailers and non-traditional value chains that reach the consumer.INEOS has formed a team of senior executives with a deep understanding of how to get things done in an INEOS context for the new business. They decided to search for talented people for the team, who have skills and experience not yet found within INEOS, and who would also prosper within the fast-paced, demanding culture of the company.The search for a talented Global Capital Projects Manager is the focus of this assignment.Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and manage the launch of new packaging formats across all sites, including the development, specification, trial and implementation i.e. primary pack, secondary pack and transportation unit.
  • Implementation of Packaging Process Changes ensuring that all changes to processes are evaluated, risk assessed and documented.
  • Completion of all packaging trails required are to a satisfactory standard with clear objectives and measurable success criteria, ensuring the operations team are engaged.
  • New Process Risk Assessments ensure any changes have been risk assessed and INEOS hygienics operating instructions updated taking into account the changes.
  • Ensure any new packaging formats and or packaging processes have been considered in the CCP studies and have a validated plan in place as part of quality plan.
  • Facilitate and manage the implementation of packaging value engineering projects in to manufacturing.
  • Facilitate the operations teams to ensure packaging formats can run efficiently meeting customer expectations for service level.
  • Ensure new and revised packaging formats introduced into manufacturing are compliant with INEOS Group packaging sustainability agenda.
  • Review of current processes and practice to drive continual quality improvement.
  • Own supplier quality review process, working in partnership with manufacturing, quality, purchasing and our suppliers to improve operational KPI’s and mitigation cost, including the choice of suppliers and preferred list.
  • Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Packaging Technologist within a fast-moving manufacturing environment over a multi-site setting.
  • Previous experience working within regulated environments such as personal and household care, cosmetics, pharma and medical devices.
  • Engineering, Science or Technology based qualification.
  • Expert knowledge on relevant packaging equipment (Bottling, Wipe Manufacturer, Sachet etc would be advantageous).
  • Good industry contacts in retailer sector and packaging supplier network.
  • Good appreciation of broader regulatory and legal framework, weights, measures, country requirements handle of flammable materials.
  • Able to present improvement plans in a clear and cohesive manner
  • Organisational skills and planning knowledge
  • Able to think outside the box
