Job Description

Senior Manager - Building Remediation TeamFully RemoteClosing Date: 08/02/2023A bit about the role...Following the Grenfell Tower tragedy in 2017, Building Safety has been high on the governments agenda. This role is an opportunity to join a team working to deliver one of the most important fields of government policy, whilst also making a real differenceto everyday people.The Building Safety Fund is a £4.5bn cladding remediation fund where Homes England act as delivery partner, alongside the Greater London Authority (GLA) providing funding to high rise buildings to remove unsafe cladding. . We work closely with the Departmentfor Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and GLA plus building owners, freeholders and their consultants to add pace to remediation alongside administering the funding.This is a high profile, fast paced, constantly changing and pressured role that requires discretion, focus and adaptability. As a Senior Manager in building remediation, you will manage a portfolio of cases c.20 applications, with a total value of c.£100m.You will be external facing, building relationships with applicants teams to understand what is happening on each project and reporting this information on a weekly basis to DLUHC. You will work closely with applicants to identify and resolve issues, takingaction as appropriate to do so and escalating as required. Throughout the process you will also work closely with our external legal and technical advisors.You will be a home based worker, coming into the office on occasion for team meetings, so need to be a natural self-starter, but also happy to work as part of a team.A bit about youWe are looking for an experienced professional who understands process, project and change management and is an excellent stakeholder and relationship manager. You will need to be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and yourdiscussions will always need to be shaped by a good understanding of the application and remediation process and how we can support and encourage our partners to deliver quickly.You also will be a confident, self-motivated individual who can think critically and imaginatively. You need to be able to manage change well and its effect on process. Due to the fast pace of the programme, you will need the ability to get up to speed asquickly as possible and act with a degree of political awareness and tact.Experience of working in construction is not a requirement but desirable. In addition, experience of the remediation of unsafe cladding and working in a central government or the wider public sector will also be an advantage.Who are we We are the Governments national housing agency.
