Job Description

Service Care Legal are recruiting a Senior Legal Officer within a Local Authority based in the Manchester area. They are looking for a candidate to join the Children and Families department, experience in this area is essential.ROLE: Senior Legal OfficerLOCATION: ManchesterCONTRACT: 6 Months on going RATE: £20-£25phThe Role-

  • Provide advice to clients on relevant legal issues through knowledge of policies, practices and procedures.
  • Negotiate and draft legal documentation, including briefs/instructions to in-house advocates and external counsel.
  • Ensure the effective management and maintenance of case files, in compliance with specific quality assurance requirements.
  • Assist and co-operate with other members of the team and other officers within Legal Services and provide cover as required. Comply with the Legal Services Manual of Practice Management Standards and Procedures.
The Person-
  • Currently hold a ILEX Professional Diploma in Law (Level 3) or equivalent legal
  • Qualification- such as LLB/LLM
  • Worked previously within a Family/Childcare department or has a wide range of experience in this area of law.
  • Experience within a Local Authority desirable.
