Job Description

Do you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges Are you the type of Java Developer that wants to work with some of the latest tech such as Vert.x and Java 11 How about doing it for a company that will invest in your progression and developmentIf yes, then this is the Senior Java Developer role for you!I am work with a fast scaling start-up that have seen incredible growth over the last 6 months, putting them well ahead of their targets for 2020. They have built an application that is used by some of the globes largest news, media and publishing houses better serve content and build relationships with millions of their users.They are now looking for a Senior Java Developer to help them ensure their platfrom will be able to handle the next 12 months of growth. Your role will be to come in an take responsibility for performance of the low latency application. You will look under the hood to identify any potential issues and propose plans on how to fix these. In addition you will also take responsibilty for the more complex features in their roadmap as well as mentoring the more junior developers.For a Senior Java Developer to be considered for this role we would be looking for you to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • You will be able to talk through your current application, what version of Java you are using and some of the challenges youve faced.
  • You will be comfortable building APIs and able to talk through some of the challenges you have overcome and how
  • Working across the full SDLC is something you are comfortable with using tools such as docker or similar.
  • Finally, you will be comfortable working in a cloud first environment, weather that be AWS, GCP or any other.
