Job Description

Senior Infrastructure Engineer (End User Technology) - NationwideDWF is currently looking to recruit a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (End User Technology) into our IT - Infrastructure team. This role can be based in any of our UK offices.In this senior technical position - reporting directly to the Infrastructure Service Delivery Manager- you will have overall responsibility for DWFs End User Technology, including technology, service delivery, security, the mentoring and guidance of our 3rd line engineers to ensure operational standards are upheld, and supplier management. You will also have responsibility for project delivery working with our Architecture function and project management team.You will establish standards, analyse and resolve problems, analyse and test all elements of the infrastructure, design and roadmap to secure our End User Technology Environment and establish standards based on business objectives.The main duties of this role will be the Global EUS Tower Owner, will organize, co-ordinate and control Service Management activity and ensure agreed customer targets are met whilst maintaining a high standard of workmanship. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Operate in accordance with ITIL principles including Incident, Problem, Change & Design Management. Design secure infrastructure solutions that maximize the sharing of applications, information, and resources across the company globally.
  • Manage multiple vendors for Tier 1-3 services.
  • Work with the Business Change team to define, resource and manage a project lifecycle, using traditional and Agile methods.
  • Create and shares roadmap and technical support to determine business needs throughout the company.
  • Evaluate, test, recommend, and implement specific solutions in conjunction with Technical Architects whilst researching emerging technologies and making recommendations based on future business needs.
  • Provide ongoing information to leadership, customers, and peers regarding health of the environment, enhancements, innovations and secure network solutions.
  • Assist in the delivery of effective infrastructure projects and technologies.
  • Ensure all daily, weekly & monthly checklists and pre-planned maintenance is undertaken.
  • Uphold security and compliance to client and internal led standards. Provide, report and own such non-functional requirements for all hardware infrastructure services.
  • Ensure service uptime of the core systems hardware and ensure business continuity plans are in place.
  • Liaise with Infrastructure engineers to ensure auditing, monitoring, capacity management and security patching of our infrastructure.
  • Work with technical architects & service transition leads to ensure technical design elements and artifacts are operationally accepted and supported.
  • Represent Infrastructure in the status of service transition activities, service acceptance risks, service improvement initiatives, security compliance including CAB representation.
    • Skills & ExperienceA detailed working knowledge/experience of all of the following technologies such as the below would be desirable:-SCCM image / build Specialist, Global /enterprise system architectures TCP-IP, DNS, IDS and DHCPExperience of 3rd / 4th Line Technical Support, Hyper-V Virtualisation Technology, Software defined architectures, Intune, Azure DevOps, End user security technologies, Scripting technologies / automation tools, SQL Server, Dell Enterprise Server Technology, Azure AD, Monitoring tools such as SCOM, MFA and Office 365.Apply now!
