Job Description

Senior Highway Engineer - Manchester £36,000 - 45,000My client a multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in Design, Engineering and Landscape Architecture are looking for a Senior Highways Engineer to join their prosperous Highways team in Manchester.You will be completing projects spanning across the north of the UK, progressing and developing your professional skills.If you are excited about progressing your career and future self as a Senior Highways Engineer then this role could be for you!Responsibilities

  • Designing and documenting of projects including Highway design (S38/S278) and Drainage design.
  • Lead project delivery from conceptual design through the project cycle to site monitoring.
  • Produce and check drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Producing 3D designs from 2D layouts including proposed models, cross section, long section and contours.
  • Active involvement with client relations within the Highway Team.
  • Liaise with authorities implanting construction of projects.
  • Delivering projects to time and budget restrictions ensuring client expectations are adhered to.
Requirements
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience within the field of Highway design
  • Knowledge of related legislations and contract procurement/administration of engineering design.
  • Good project management skills and financial management
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Civils 3D
  • Knowledge of Highway assets and solutions for improvement.
  • Experience of developing feasibility, and preliminary design to traffic/local roads problems including Alignment, Drainage, Pavement, Road Restraint System, Road Signs & Markings.
  • Awareness of walking & cycling design, traffic calming, Healthy Streets, junction design, and carriageway renewal design.
