Job Description

Role

  • Production of fee proposals, fire strategy reports and other relevant documentation as and when required of Senior Fire Safety Engineer.
  • Attend Client meetings, conduct site surveys and inspections and communicate the intended fire strategy to the design team and client through phone calls, emails and meetings as
  • Be mentor and lead of 2-3 fire engineers.
  • Calculations of evacuation times - Means of Escape
  • Solve, with support, fire engineering calculations including radiant heat, smoke control and occupant
  • Third Party Review/Design
  • Assessment and understanding of the main UK fire safety legislation and standards applied to buildings from a Fire Safety Engineers perspective.
The Senior Fire Engineer
  • A creatively geared person who can understand risk and provide
  • A basis of understanding commercial management and resourcing from Senior Fire Safety Engineers point of view.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • A degree in Fire Engineering or equivalent Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience working as a Fire Engineer
  • IFE/IFSM Membership desirable
  • An understanding of ADB, BS 9999 and BS
  • Working knowledge of regulatory controls and a proven ability to develop and implement fire engineered design solutions in the built
