Job Description

Senior Electrical HV Engineer - ManchesterBR00091Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + benefits An exciting opportunity has become available for a knowledgeable Electrical HV Engineer to assume a senior position in a highly successful multidisciplinary consultancy, as part of the companys vibrant and talented Manchester office.In this role of Senior Electrical Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Ensuring that key TSO and DNO relationships are maintained at all levels of the project.
  • Gathering all relevant information and drawings direct from National Grid.
  • Producing AC and DC Schematic Diagrams, Mesh Corner Protection, Busbar Protection, LCC Circuit Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Relay Setting Calculations/ Settings files.
  • Producing primary plant layouts and designs in accordance with NGTS, complete with required safety clearances, and access requirements.
  • Producing drawings and designs relating to HV substation loayouts (bot AIS and GIS) - Busbars, Circuit Breakers, Disconnectors, Earthing Switches, Surge Arresters.
  • Provide earthing layouts and details, busbar and clamps, cable routing and mechanical interlocking, steady State and Transient loading calculations for the plant and Plant Rating and Thermal Rating to meet the short circuit rating of the plants.
  • Produce Design Intend Document (DID), and design Gantry, Anchor Blocks, Down-leads, and Down Droppers.
In order to be considered for this Senior Electrical HV Engineer position, you will:
  • Have demonstrable experience in the production of primary plant layouts and designs, the production of drawings and designs relating to HV substation layouts.
  • Be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of Equipment and Protection and Control system of substation up to 400kV.
  • Be able to demonstrate clear understanding of earthing layouts & details, busbar and clamps, cable routing and mechanical interlocking.
  • Design existing and final arrangement. Design Intend Document (DID). Design of Gantry, Anchor Blocks, Down-leads and Down Droppers
  • site LVAC Supplies. Create Primary Plant models and drawings for other disciplines to work on
  • Have excellent communication skills.
