Job Description

Senior Electrical HV Engineer - Manchester My client, a major multidisciplinary Consultancy specialising in Civil, Structural and Water Engineering are looking for a Senior Electrical High Voltage (HV) Engineer to join their thriving team in Manchester. They implement a holistic approach to design,housing a broad range of specialisms offering a great diversity of skills throughout both the public and private sectors.Responsibilities: You will produce drawings and designs relating to HV substation layouts (AIS and GIS). You will be responsible for ensuring that TSO and DNO relationships are consistently maintained at all levels within a range of projects. Other responsibilities will includeusing your sound knowledge of the Equipment and Protection Control system of a substation up to 400kV to gather information and drawings directly from the National Grid. You will oversee the production of primary plant layouts and designs in accordance withNGTS and complete all required safety clearances, and be involved with the design of existing and final arrangements, using your knowledge of DID.Requirements:

  • Familiarity with the production of primary plant layouts in accordance with NGTS.
  • The ability to complete required safety clearances and access requirements.
  • Proven experience in the production of drawings and designs relating to HV substation layouts (AIS and GIS).
  • Confident skills in calculations producing both conceptual and detailed substation designs.
  • Experience within the thermal and plant ratings.
