Job Description

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join an industry leading, award-winning consultancy on a long-term contract. Our client is based in Manchester but are operating on a hybrid work from home basis.This position will involve working on large Industrial project, focused on designing industrial containment & cabling systems.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Produce design deliverables (including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and ensure progress against the project brief
  • Checking calculations and production of detailed drawings to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project brief and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.
  • Contribute to the preparation of enquiry plans, tender reviews, fee estimate sheets, scopes of work and change controls as required.
  • An understanding of CDM requirements.
Skills desired:
  • Considerable design, technical detailing and specification writing experience.
  • Possess a working knowledge of BIM Level 2 Delivery.
  • Possess a working knowledge of BSRIA BG 6 and AIA LOD
  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Navisworks, AutoCAD, REVIT, NBS, Trimble Pro Design and DIALUX
  • Experience in projects with elements of, or a focus on, renewable energy.
  • Experience in projects with elements of, or a focus on, sustainability
