Job Description

Senior Electrical Design EngineerBased: Manchester Salary: £45,000 + Overtime Hours: Monday - Friday (Onsite)A excellent business based in Manchester are searching for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join there team. The business is a national electrical and mechanical engineering consultancy specialising in design solutions such as environmental design, fireprotection, infrastructure, survey works and much more. In the role wed ask to provide an integrated design and project management service and follow a process to fulfil client requirements. whilst representing the practice in a professional manner however looking to implement strong ideas to progress and moveforward within this industry. Requirements

  • Develop system options at design development stages in conjunction with other staff.
  • Undertake initial space planning exercises for plantrooms, primary services routes, etc.
  • Attend design team and site meetings as appropriate and represent the practice in a professional manner.
  • Undertake surveys of existing installations and establish condition, repair and suitability for reuse.
  • Undertake principle design calculations associated with electrical systems (e.g. lighting calcs, cable sizing, plant sizing, load assessment, trunking and tray selection).
  • Produce tender quality drawings in association with CAD staff.
  • Attend site to undertake surveys of existing installed services to establish location
  • Select standard electrical equipment to meet calculated design criteria. (e.g. light fittings, distribution boards, circuit breakers etc).
  • Undertake snagging of installed systems with respect to performance, quality and compliance.
