Job Description

Job Title: Senior EcologistSalary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOELocation: ManchesterPenguin Recruitment are working with a leading design and environmental practice who are looking for a Senior Ecologist. The position is based full time in Manchester.The Senior Ecologist position offers:

  • £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
  • 1 paid professional membership annually

The company has had consistent results amnd major success in projects all over the UK. They specialise in landscape architecture, urban design, landscape planning, arboriculture, ecology, biodiversity net gain and GIS. If you are a Senior Ecologist basedin Manchester this could be for you!To be successful you must have:
  • Full membership of CIEEM and have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Established ecological consultant with extensive project management experience and have worked in consultancy.
  • Youll have experience of writing and delivering Breadth of ECoW on a range of projects and understand the process of preparing and implementing EPS and other licence applications.
  • Youll be an experienced EPS licensed consultant (Class 1 or preferably 2 bat or other species) and have full knowledge of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation and best practice survey techniques
  • Good time and project management skills are a must as are sound influencing and communication skills that enable you to build, maintain and consolidate working relationships with colleagues, clients and external bodies.
Your main duties will be:
  • Youll be planning and undertaking habitat surveys, supervising field staff and survey effort to identify indicator plant species and habitat types.
  • Write and deliver EcIA, ES chapter, inputting into HRA reports, providing some ecological inputs into supporting examination in public and/or the appeals process under supervision and inputting into design teams on green Infrastructure,
  • There will be travel involved so you will need to have a full UK driving licence.
