Job Description

The Senior Business Analyst will support the Head of Change, Portfolio Director and Strategic Programme Managers to oversee large scale projects and the Senior BA will coordinate and oversee the quality standards of work of other BAs as it relates to a specificproject to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and capability of the Change Branch Business AnalystsClient DetailsGreater Manchester Police is one of the UKs largest police forces and is responsible for keeping people safe across more than 1,200 sq km.   • Design new service models and changed ways of working, in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), to deliver improved outcomes for victims and efficient, high-quality services
  • Develop and manage a team of Business Analysts, developing practice, allocating work and ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Scope, design and lead Business Analysis work packages including current state reviews, business process redesign, requirements capture, external research, demand & resource modelling, options appraisals, feasibility studies/business case development,
  • Support the change and transformation team to focus on the big picture by applying strategic analysis at portfolio level using a range of tools and techniques including definition of future operating models/blueprints
  • Support the delivery of sustainable benefits, through development of quantifiable performance and benefit indicators; the identification and mitigation of design risks, and supporting change readiness to deliver the planned changes
Profile
  • Experience of working on strategic change projects in a large, complex organisation with proven experience of successful service redesign
  • Significant experience of leading business analysis work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with the ability to establish effective working relationships and collaborate with others to achieve a shared goal.
  • Proven ability to develop a high performing Business Analysis Team, maximising potential including mentoring less experienced Business Analysts and implementing quality assurance measures to ensure the BA service and standards are maintained
  • Proven ability to manage business analysis activity including working with project leads to scope and plan business analysis work-packages; advising on the allocation of BA resources to maximise skills and the effectiveness of the BA service; directingand leading design teams; negotiating realistic timescales for delivery and managing quick turnaround demand
  • Experience of working concurrently across multiple projects or work-streams in a complex and challenging environment where deadlines and goal posts can change rapidly
  • Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management, including the ability to successfully negotiate with and support senior managers and stakeholders to address complex challenges and make sometimes hard decisions
  • Demonstrable experience of the effective and appropriate use of a range of business analysis tools and techniques to establish the as is and to be position, including proven application of: quantitative and qualitative research and analysis; BPR/BPItechniques such as LEAN Six sigma; a variety of modelling and problem solving methods/ techniques and proven experience of working with key stakeholders to gather and prioritise requirements, establish preferred options and ensure trace ability
  • Demonstrable communication skills and experience of preparing written reports, making presentations to boards or other key stakeholders, and contributing to the preparation of other documents such as business cases
  • Experience of Benefits Management including identifying, mapping, and profiling benefits and establishing metrics that allow the organisation to evaluate the success of a change initiative
  • Formal Business Analysis or analytical qualification such as Diploma in Business Analysis, and/or course certification such as Lean / Six Sigma, systems thinking or similar
  • A degree, or a Higher National Diploma (HND) or relevant professional qualification or experience
