Engagement officer Secondary SchoolTrafford The role is to work supporting engagement for learning with the schools hardest to reach pupils. The purpose of the role is to work with pupil engagement across the school, supporting students who are have become disengaged and struggling to access the curriculum in the classroom environment.Your role will be to support young people with their behaviour and help them develop strategies and action plans to encourage positive behaviour choices whilst in school and in class.You will need to forge strong professional positive relationship with all students that you work with.You will be expected to communicate with class teachers and SLT along with care givers, family and social workers giving a holistic approach to behaviour.You will be encouraged to identify barriers the young people have to learning and how their behaviour has an impact on their education.Your role will be heavily involved in the pastoral side of school life and the impact of this on the young persons education.A knowledge or understanding of mental health would be advantageous.CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS:* Location - Hulme* Position - Mentor* Start date - ASAP* Hours - 8:30 - 16:00The role would include:-One to one support for children aged between 11-16 years old KS3/4 with behavioural challenges-Very challenging behaviour linked to mental health-The students will need to be supervised on a 121 basisEXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS- Previous SEN experience- Previous experience with challenging behaviour- Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as Safeguarding training is provided)OTHERIf you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up to date CV.
