Security Engineer6 Months Knutsford - hybrid Role overview:

Ownership of engineering of technical solutions across security domains, collaborating closely
with security engineers and global infrastructure teams
Create and maintain accurate and high quality documentation for the service as it is consumed by
variety of internal service teams
Customer-focus on strong service delivery
Evaluate & analyse business requirements and design suitable solutions, challenging requirements
where necessary
The successful candidate will work closely with on-shore and off-shore development teams

High degree of (hands-on) technical guidance & vision with broad subject matter expertise in
security
Excellent ability to execute where information is ambiguous, utilising professionalism, experience
and prior knowledge

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong foundation knowledge in cloud technologies mainly in AWS, Azure, Openshift (S3, Lambda,
CloudFormation, ARO, Kubernetes)
Exposure to programming such as Python
Strong foundational knowledge of at least one core technology domain e.g., Operating Systems,
Network Security, Application Security
Excellent overall knowledge of open source and commercial security tooling and integrations
Enthusiastic about security, open to learning, and to dynamically adapting to Information Security
technologies as business requirements change.
Core security engineering with specific skills in
Cyber Ark (nice to have)
RSA
Tanium
Splunk
Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

Basic/Intermediate level of scripting/coding ability e.g., Python, PowerShell
Exposure to other cloud technologies Azure and SaaS based security solutions
Strong knowledge of security network architectures (e.g. Firewalls, DMZ, proxies, DNS, web and
mail servers) and the principles of networking.
Certified architect/professional in either AWS or Azure e.g. Az-500
Infrastructure administration, Windows/Linux, Containers (K8s, Dockers, etc.)
Configuration management and IaaC (Chef, Puppet, SCCM etc.)
Background in computer science or engineering
Ability to think architecturally at big picture and able to translate this into practical security
