Job Description

Are you a Secondary Teaching Assistant looking for a new role in ManchesterI am currently recruiting for an enthusiastic teaching assistant for a secondary academy in south Manchester.The role is offered initially on a temporary basis from January 2023 until April 2023 with a possible extension.The RoleTeaching Assistant supporting teaching and learning, predominantly with students in year 10 and year 11Five days a week - 8.15am to 2.45pmThe TA will be: -Supporting students on a 1 to 1 basis or in small groups.Specifically supporting year 10 and year 11 students with positive attitudes towards GCSE studyHelping students overcome barriers to learningSupporting teenagers with mental health needs and anxietyOccasionally, acting as a reader and scribe in examinations and assessments.Work collaboratively with other members of the SEN team, senior leaders and wider school.The SchoolSecondary Academy opened in September 2017.Moved into new state of the art building in September 2021Part of an innovative multi academy trust with outstanding schools in South ManchesterExcellent facilities for teaching and learningVery easily accessible by public transport routes.The BenefitsFull time role highly likely to become permanentEmotionally rewarding workExcellent support from department and senior leadership teamCompetitive pay ratesOpportunities within the wider schoolTo join us and be successful in this TA role, you will need to:

  • Have a minimum of six weeks experience of working with children aged 11 to 16 supported by references
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with 10 years of employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Bachelors degree or teaching assistant qualifications
