Job Description

Key skill 1 - technical knowledge and skills

  1. Significant Experience in the delivery of large complex software projects using agile methodologies across 3rd party and internal teams.
  2. A proven ability to establish credibility and exert influence at all levels within a software development environment.
  3. Be capable of understanding enterprise scale software implementations and be able to facilitate and engage in technical conversations.
  4. Have a good awareness and ability to work with information security and confidentiality legislation.
  5. Experience of managing complex software changes to production systems.
  6. Experience in creating and managing project documentation.
  7. Knowledge of change management from both a technical and project perspective.
Key skill 2 - communications skills
  1. Excellent mentoring and coaching skills to implement and mature agile methodologies across experienced technical teams.
  2. Ability to write clearly, accurately and succinctly and to tailor documentation to a variety of audiences.
  3. Ability to deliver presentations clearly.
  4. Ability to present arguments verbally in a fluid and persuasive manner.
Key skill 3 - interpersonal skills
  1. Experience in facilitation, collaboration and influencing across teams and departments.
  1. The post holder will be expected to establish their credibility and develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members, colleagues at all levels across the organisation, medical and lay people and third party contractors.
  2. The post holder must be sensitive to team dynamics and react positively to peer challenge.
  • The post holder will be expected have the self-confidence and ability to build and exploit personal networks.

Key skill 4 - organisation skills
  1. The post holder requires excellent organisation skills and be able to effectively manage their own time and that of others. He or she must ensure that effective systems and procedures are in place which make best use of the resources available and takeinto account new initiatives or organisational developments.
  2. The post holder must be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and on their own initiative, whilst maintaining the ability to think clearly, to make decisions and to solve problems. He or she must react positively to conflicting priorities and prioritisework while ensuring that a high quality service is provided.
Key skill 5 - innovation and problem solving skills
  1. Experience of supporting or leading change to establish processes, and being able to champion new ways of working in a way that secures buy-in from a range of audiences.
  2. The ability to identify and develop solutions to improve team and directorate effectiveness.
Key skill 6 - people management skills
  1. Excellent management skills with the ability to motivate, lead and develop staff within a dynamic and changing environment.
  1. A good understanding of equality and diversity issues and best practice relating to the roles responsibilities.
  1. A good understanding of business processes and policies relating to the risk management, health and safety, business continuity and information security requirements of the role.
