Job Description

Are you a school science technician looking for a new roleI am currently recruiting for a qualified and talented school science technician for a secondary academy in Manchester.The role is required from September 2022 on a full time basis, initially until the Christmas holidays, but may extend beyond.The RoleSchool Science TechnicianMonday to Friday 8.30 am - 3.30pmDuties include :-Maintaining equipment.Constructing and modifying apparatus.Setting up experiments.Taking an active part in laboratory demonstrations and practical science lessonsOrdering resources and keeping budgets.Helping in practical classes.Giving technical help to pupils and students.Always meeting current health and safety standards.A science degree combined with a COSHH qualification for science technicians is requiredExperience as a school science technician, preferably in a good or outstanding UK school, supported by written references is essentialThe SchoolConsistently very high performing 11-18 academy in central ManchesterOfsted Outstanding since January 2014"Teachers are authoritative experts in their subjects. They have high expectations; poor behaviour is not tolerated. The quality of teaching in lessons is usually good and often outstanding.   • a degree in science plus a COSHH Science technician qualification
  • a minimum of 6 weeks experience of working in a UK secondary school with children aged 11- 18
  • Good references to support this experience
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with 10 years of employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
