Job Description

The position of Sales Engineer would suit a very strong account management & sales person who is now looking to expand and develop within a more autonomous role. You will be a confident communicator with razor sharp listening skills and the ability to understandthe needs of the customer.You will have a background in chemistry/science/engineering and recent sales and account management experience.The company have their head office in Hampshire and seek a Sales Engineer for the North of the UK and Scotland. Your geographical area covers Runcorn, Macclesfield, Sheffield, Grimsby and Scotland. You will live with good access to motorways, in order tovisit customers up to 4 days per week.On offer is a basic salary of circa £43K per annum plus quarterly bonuses, pension (10% of salary), private medical insurance, 33 days’ annual leave Car Allowance.The company who develop, manufacture and export specialist adhesive products are very unique themselves. The employees have a real passion and conviction in what they do and the products they produce, resulting in a growing global client base. This is demonstratedby a 30% growth in 2023, and a predicted future growth of up to 20% this year.We are looking for somebody who can listen and learn; and understand a problem and then sell a solution. You will be self-sufficient and self-motivated.As Sales Engineer you will have overall responsibility and ownership of managing key accounts and new accounts (approx. 70 current accounts including 12 key accounts)

  • Supporting distributors and customers in the north of the UK
  • Grow existing customer base and develop new business in the North region
  • Answering technical queries via phone and email
  • Visits to customers to help recommend, specify and introduce adhesives into a production line
  • Complaint support, investigation and troubleshooting
  • Technical training and new product training for distributors
  • Support with manning exhibitions when required
  • Track sales leads, samples and projects, ensure regular feedback from customers / distributors.
  • Keep company CRM database updated with visit reports, projects, opportunities etc.
  • Support new product launches and promotional activities
  • Negotiate and provide pricing and quotations for customers
  • Provide account sales support
  • Liaise with customer services and credit control to help service accounts
  • Maintain and develop relationships with integrators who manufacture equipment such as dispensers, UV lamps, surface preparation equipment.
