Job Description

A chemical and consumer products company based in Manchester is currently looking to recruit a Cosmetic Regulatory Specialist to their team, following the retirement of a long serving member of staff.With cosmetic and chemical regulatory knowledge, you will take over the regulatory aspects of the cosmetic and personal portfolio.Key responsibilities:

  • Heading the companys cosmetics and personal care products portfolio. Developing strategy for product launch and submitting new registrations, back-back and amendment request in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing and assessing initial product samples from buyers and making recommendations for modifications to products if deemed necessary.
  • Compiling and maintaining Product Technical Files in accordance with the relevant SOP
  • Preparing product labels in line with latest Cosmetic Regulation and working with other departments to obtain information to include on the product label related to relevant regulation
  • Being cognisant of the latest developments in the relevant regulations such and interpreting and advising the consequences to other stakeholder in order to be compliant.
  • Working with external agencies and testing houses to perform data gap analysis on missing reports/data to compile and prepare a Product Information Pack and registering cosmetic products in CPNP.
  • Issuing Labelling Sec for Cosmetic and Personal care Products to the Marketing and Buying Departments.
  • Advising on any specific markings that are required on product packaging.
  • Reviewing product packaging and artwork to ensure it meets our quality standards and is suitable for placing on the market.
  • Ability to generate analysis and review the Safety Data Sheet.
  • Reviewing product Test Reports e.g. Stability, challenge test reports, SDSs, REACH & SVHC
  • Commissioning product test reports with Test Houses where necessary -liaising with SGS, MSL etc.
  • Liaising with suppliers and other members of the team to ensure suppliers are fully briefed with our requirements.
  • Provide technical advice for given product areas internally and to external customers/clients
  • Keep up to date with current Detergent, Cosmetic, REACH, Aerosols, Air Fresheners, CLP regulations, legislation and standards
  • Monitoring samples and testing approval dates against the critical path.
  • The role will require working in conjunction with the buying/Marketing, Purchasing and Transport Department
  • Artwork reviews
  • Liaising with customers where queries and complaints have been reported directly or via authorities.
    • Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Graduate in Chemistry or relevant science
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in Cosmetic Products compliance/Regulatory
  • Previous commercial experience in consumer product QA and product safety
