Regional Finance Officer Manchester City Centre - remote working and HQ office-based when requiredStarting salary for this position is £25,272 per annum (plus contributory pension)The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a global humanitarian organisation that finds, removes and destroys unexploded landmines, bombs and munitions from places affected by conflict. We make it safe for communities to use their land again so people can take themselves out of poverty and live without fear. We also provide education programmes, particularly for children, so people can live, work, travel and play as safely as a possible until land can be cleared. Since 1989, MAG has helped over 17 million people in 40 countries rebuild their lives and livelihoods after war.We are seeking aRegional Finance Officer to join our Finance team, which provides day-to-day financial support and advice to MAG’s programmes in countries across the globe. Ideally the candidate will be part qualified. This is an exciting and dynamic role, where your finance skills and experience will help us make a real difference, supporting our lifesaving work across the globe.You will provide an important bridge between the Finance Managers based overseas and our HQ, producing central management accounts. You will have the ability to provide specialised diagnosis, support and advice on the majority of programme finance issues, related to the role. You will also review variances on contracts and create financial reports for our donors and budget proposals. You’ll therefore need motivation and excellent communications skills, as well as a background in reporting financial information, including data analysis, variance investigation and general bookkeeping.This is a fast-paced role, which will require high levels of initiative, pro-activeness and strong multi-tasking skills. It will give you the opportunity to use your finance experience for an international charity. Above all, you will need to be approachable, flexible, have a good eye for detail and be ready to work in a busy and varied role. You will also recognise that good financial support can make a real difference to MAG’s success in saving lives and building futures.Ideally you will be part-qualified in ACA.
