From Crossrail - Europe’s largest civil engineering project - to investment in extraordinary stations and major programmes of electrification, were involved in some of the most ambitious and diverse ventures that this country has ever seen.Our Shared Service Centre is at the heart of this, bringing the administration of finances and human resources across Network Rail together. We oversee recruitment and job vacancies, process payments, bill & collect income, pay wages, manage employee personal data and undertake health checks for our people every day.As the Recruitment Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading and delivering a first-class recruitment service to the business. Focusing on excellent customer service whilst leading in the delivery of local Key performance indicators and service level agreements within Network Rail Shared Services in accordance with statutory, regulatory, contractual, customs & excise and group policy and regulations.Key Accountabilities1.Accountable for the delivery of a robust recruitment service to Network Rail. Provide a first class efficient service for the full recruitment life cycle from advert creation through to on-boarding.2.Drive the recruitment team to meet KPIs and key business deliverables.3.Manage and oversee recruitment data, including personal data which must be managed in accordance with current data protection legislation.4.Provide guidance and support to the Service Delivery team to delivering a first line advisory service which encompasses recruitment related queries.5.Work in consultation with the resourcing centre of expertise safeguarding that the recruitment activity within the shared service centre is legislatively compliant and fit for purpose.6.Operate within the pre-agreed control framework within the recruitment team, embedding a control mind set with customers and stakeholders. Continually reviewing the framework for adherence and embed improvements where required. Work with all parties to reduce risk and the cost of control.7.Develop / continually improve relations with key stakeholders, define and embed a customer centric culture where all team members consider the impact on customers and their future requirements8.Support the Network Rail better day every day initiative by overseeing the adoption of weekly focus initiatives, coaching and empowering team members to innovate existing processes to drive continuous improvement in the department and wider organisation.9.Represent the team within the Network Rail Shared Services people forum, developing peer group people initiatives, consistency in the application of people policies and improvement in centre wide engagement levels.10.Drive an inclusive culture where individuals can be themselves and are free to challenge existing process without discouragement. Encourage a culture of operational responsibility where individuals take personal ownership for delivery.11.Manage the recruitment team by maximising individual employee performance. Set, monitor and assess individuals against SMART objectives to drive employee and team performance. Support team member development through regular coaching and balanced feedback; encouraging team members to have a training and career development plan.Job Skills, Experience and QualificationEssential•Full or Part qualification of CIPD (or willing to work towards)•A proven track record of success in leading / managing a team•A demonstrable track record of developing individuals and supporting the career progression•Proven experience of driving and improving team performance through continuous improvement in order to achieve KPIs / SLAs within a legislative framework.•Excellent stakeholder management skills; a proven track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of colleagues within a large and complex organisation, including those at the most senior levels.•Proven analytical skills; ability to produce, interpret and work comfortably with large volumes or complex management information.•Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (including group based presentations / chairing and contributing in meetings with senior stakeholders)•A strong working knowledge of best practise across the recruitment lifecycle•Proven track record of operating in a complex working environmentNetwork Rail welcomes applications regardless of age, disability, marital status (including civil partnerships), pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, transgender status, sex (or gender), employment status, trade union affiliation, or other irrelevant factor.
