Job Description

TUI Group is the worlds number one integrated tourism business. Flight Operations is a function within our airline organisation responsible for Regulatory Compliance and Pilot Management. As the Recruitment Specialist - Flight Ops, your focus will be on ensuring the effective management of all aspects of pilot recruitment. This will include the high-profile launch of the TUI Airways MPL Scheme, all Pilot Recruitment Campaigns together withthe general management of the Inspiring the Next Generation Schools project and running pilot inductions.Therefore experience in a volume recruitment role is highly sought along with knowledge of how to plan and execute assessment centres.The role will require effective co-ordination across the Pilot Management, HR and Reward teams to ensure that our new pilots join the business on time and are ready to commence their training. The role will require liaison with external providers, such asTAT as well as internal stakeholders at all levels of the business including regular meetings with BALPA. Co-ordinating and developing the Cadet (MPL) Scheme Strategy will be a key part of the role to support our objective of broadening access to the pilot profession whilst increasing diversity of our Pilot Community.We want to create a culture of trust and passion that enables a sense of belonging and want our people to enjoy flexibility whilst keeping performance and efficiency high. Were maximizing technology to create a balanced work environment and actively encouragea mixture of home and office working, in roles where its possible to do so. This role will have a contractual base of Manchester Airport (although we may be open to considering other locations), the position can be carried out on a very flexible hybrid arrangementwith limited requirement to be onsite at Manchester Airport (or other location) but with a willingness to undertake UK travel as the role requires.The position is being offered on a fixed term contract basis until December 2023.Applications close 12 February 2023ABOUT THE JOBAs the Flight Operations Recruitment Manager, youll be accountable and responsible for:

  • Working with Flight Ops Management to launch the MPL scheme and then to develop the ongoing MPL Recruitment Strategy
  • Managing and administrating the pilot recruitment process for Type Rated and Non Type Rated Pilots making full use of Social Media Channel and Internal Communication platforms
  • Oversight of Contract issue for all new pilots & cadets working with Group HR and Group Recruitment
  • Co-ordination of the pilot induction process and ensuring that new entrants have all their required resources at the point at which the join the business
ABOUT YOU
  • Experience in a volume recruitment role withexposure to coordinating and running assessment centres and subsequent onboarding processes
  • Excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills with a high degree of self-initiative and team spirit
  • Competent in using computer-based packages (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Cross function people management skills
  • Ability to strike a balance between operational, strategic, and commercial needs
  • Emotional resilience, impartial approach, and self-motivation
  • Strong influencing skills with collaborative working both internally and externally
  • Experience of working in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage own time as well as working as part of team
  • Willingness to undertake UK travel as the role requires
