Job Description

As a Barclays Recoveries Case Manager this is an exciting opportunity where youll be managing a portfolio of Recoveries cases, including authority to approve recovery costs/allocate IP or LPA limits within own discretion, driving strategies, managingimpairment and costs whilst maximizing value added recovery and to contribute to the evolution of the Recoveries operation. Youll be securing the repayment of cases in a timely manner, within specified sanctioning responsibility and against a range of challengingperformance targets. Hybrid Working We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Were flexible on how thisworks and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may chooseto spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager. What will you be doing Achieving repayment of impaired debt by formulating and implementing a range of cost effective, timely recovery strategies while balancing time demands across the caseload Presenting and recommending strategies for sanction on cases outside own discretion, and close cases (subject to accreditation) within personal discretion Updating Global Recoveries System and other systems to maintain the accuracy and completeness of bank records Pointing of reference, contact and support for colleague referrals both within the team and wider business e.g., technical queries, strategy formulation Being the principal point of contact for key professionals/stakeholders in building, maintaining, and enhancing relationships and resolving issues Providing informed input around recovery practices, recovery rates and wider industry trends to enable continuous improvement Engaging actively in the identification and resolution of complaints, implementing a course of action to conclusion Identifying actual and potential detriment and vulnerabilities exhibited by customers, taking action to mitigate/remediate where necessary, escalating concerns as appropriate What were looking for: Experience in dealing directly with a range of Business or Personal customers managing their day-to-day requirements Familiarity in the provision of Credit products Evidence of relationship building, both internally and externally Previous experience in portfolio management Skills that will help you in the role: Recoveries experience Knowledge of property related matters, including potential environmental issues Extensive knowledge of CCA and/or Regulated matters, Data Protection & insolvency legislation/requirements as it impacts Recoveries accounts Solid knowledge of Contract, Commercial & Insolvency law Where will you be workingIn the centre of Spinningfields, Hardman Street is right in the centre of the best of Manchesters professional business network.
