Job Description

Quality ManagerCompetitive Salary + BenefitsPermanentManchester My client, a leading manufacturer who have been operating for over 100 years are looking to add a Quality Manager to their Manchester based team. The Quality Manager will effectively contribute to the operation of the Site by taking responsibility forthe development and implementation of quality, environmental and health and safety management systems to meet the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 to support the sites strategy and operations. The Quality Manager will also act as thesite Health & Safety Advisor.Quality ManagerJob Description

  • Provision of a fully documented and integrated business system.
  • Facilitation of customer or third-party inspections.
  • Ownership of Management Programmes to provide continuous review and improvement of the business system.
  • Development and implementation of a yearly programme of internal audits both site and office based.
  • Manage / assist with external audits carried out by cable certification bodies when necessary.
  • Management of customer complaints.
  • Quality planning to establish and document required test and inspection regimes for routine and non-routine products.
  • Management of Calibration System.
  • Evaluation of material and finished goods suppliers in line with customer approval and registration schemes.
  • Maintain applicable Environmental licenses and permits.
  • Oversee waste packaging reduction programmes.
  • Chair monthly / annual management review meetings.
Health & Safety
  • Acts as the site Health & Safety Advisor.
  • Head up external quality, environmental and Health & Safety system audits.
  • Implements yearly programme of Risk Assessments.
  • Management of Accidents, Statistics, Investigations and Post-Accident Risk Assessments.
  • Establish and maintain requirements under COSHH, RoHS and REACH legislation.
  • Establish and monitor Environmental and Health and Safety Operational Control Plans.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Environmental and Health & Safety Legislation.
General
  • Working with all members of the Business Improvement & Technical teams to assist in the continuous improvement of the quality environmental and Health &Safety systems and processes to ensure best practice is consistently applied.
  • Communicating effectively with all levels of employees within the Company ensuring effective relationships is developed.
Quality ManagerExperience/ Qualifications/ Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards, ISO 14001 environmental standards and the associated management of compliant QMS systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of ISO 45001NEBOSH in occupational health and safety desirable.
  • Quality or Environmental Lead Auditor trained (CQI/IRCA certified or similar) with experience in internal auditing.
  • 3-5 years experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment undertaking tasks comparable to the role.
  • Understanding of production/manufacturing processes is advantageous.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths, although being educated to degree level or equivalent would be advantageous.
Quality ManagerEssentials Excellent IT skills especially with Microsoft Office applications. Oral and written communications skills. Organisational skills Interpret and analyse data in a result orientated environment. Influencing skills and sound decision-making ability. Excellent customer service skills.
