Job Description

The Company:

  • We are looking for a Quality Control Manager to join the busy team who supply electrical and lighting products to retailers. You will continually develop and successfully manage all aspects of technical/quality assurance requirements for the business and communicate cross functionally and effectively. You must have experience with electrical or lighting products.
  • The Role:
  • Manage all legal requirements regarding WEEE and ROHS directives and continually keeping all company records updated, with all aspects of legality of EC declarations.
  • Monitor and access full awareness of any changes in documentation, legal alterations or any information relating to, or could have an impact on, the quality assurance of products.
  • Manage all aspects of ISO accreditation; keep all general compliance documentation updated effectively.
  • Communicate with a Third Party regarding all testing / query issues that may affect the company, keeping all records and staff updated with any amendments.
  • Deal with all certification including National accounts and International customers.
  • Liaise with National account customers QC departments in relation to all Quality issues, and maintain a good working relationship, visit them when necessary. Continually complete the correct documentation on product speciation requirements.
  • Manage the AQL for customers and business.
  • Manage the process where appropriate for customer Audits.
  • Manage and answer all potential QC issues with factories and pro-actively communicate internally and externally any issues. Signing off all direct import inspection reports, check and approve all product technical leaflets.
  • Using personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in Quality Assurance activities.
  • Collate all supplier audit reports on the correct documentation.
  • Deal with customer and sales department issues regarding any technical issues, pro-actively try to solve any issues.
  • Responsible for any QC product issues via goods in.
  • Manage all aspect of waste management and pro-actively keep company records updated.
  • Ensure CLARE testers and all calibration is updated annually.
  • Any other duties as required.
  • Skills Required:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a similar role working with electrical / lighting products.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The ability to adapt and communicate effectively, needs and instructions.
  • Can demonstrate good team work internally and externally.
  • Can identify problems and deliver effective solutions.
  • Proactive and professional behaviour.
  • Manage time and workload effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to deal with more than one priority at a time.
