Job Description

  • Provide legal oversight on allocated aspects of product quality and legislation;
  • Work with the wider team to implement systems and processes that ensure Distrelec’s ongoing legal compliance in the area of CE marking, environmental reporting, Quality and Trade
  • Ensure that the required compliance documentation is maintained in both internal and external databases
  • Ensure that customer compliance needs are met in-line with internal processes and KPIs
  • Youll need to do some of this:
  • Produce reports for (WEEE, Battery, Packaging and other legal requirements as applicable);
  • Responsible for ensuring international trade requirements are met
  • Lead the provision of best-in-class customer service with respect to quality and legislation information;
  • Responsible for allocated product recall activities and projects
  • Responsible for ensuring various EU databases are maintained, such as EPREL, SCIP, ECHA etc.
  • Ensure successful resolution of audit and inquiries by external authorities
  • Ensure, through process, the safe operation of products placed on the market and ensure conformity with the relevant quality requirements (e.g. RoHS, REACh, CE marking and other legal requirements as applicable);
  • Assist with contractual agreements with suppliers and customers that protect the business with respect to quality and legislation;
  • Work with the wider team to ensure continuous improvement to all aspects of the quality and legislation function
  • Increase the profile Distrelec Group through representation at relevant supplier forums and initiatives.
  • Take on additional adhoc tasks and responsibilities as necessary to support the Quality and Legislation function
  • We need you to have:
  • Degree (or equivalent) qualified
  • Quality related qualifications
  • Electrical/Electronic engineering background advantageous
  • Excellent technical product knowledge (electronics/electrical components)
  • Excellent technical understanding of all legislation applicable to product & trade
  • Knowledge of databases and management of large sets of complex data
  • Experience of conducting training/education sessions for relevant stakeholder groups
  • Wed love you to have:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and process oriented
  • Advanced PC skills (MS Office)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) advantageous
