Job Description

Qualified Social Worker - Tameside Council - East Childrens Social Work Team - Up to £30ph!

  • The team hold cases from initial referral, child in need, child protection, PLO and care proceedings so you will have a varied and diverse caseload.
  • You will work within a small pod in the team as part of the duty rota for new referrals and section 47s.
  • You will receive dedicated monthly supervision and ongoing management support from a Practice Manager as well as two Team Managers overseeing all the cases.
  • In order to work effectively in this role you will need to have the following experience, skills and attributes;
    1. experience of safeguarding social work role
    2. experience of dealing with complex cases and care planning processes
    3. good organisation skills to prioritise casework and demands
    4. child focused practice with the child being at the centre of all assessments, plans and intervention
    5. familiarity of Signs of Safety would be helpful but training and support is available
    6. strong analytical skills to assess childrens needs, parenting capacity and the impact of harm on children and to identify correct threshold of involvement
    7. good communication skills and partnership working with family networks and wider professional group
    8. creative and innovative mindset for delivering excellent outcomes for children through tailored direct work and plans for children
    9. be supportive member of the team
