Were hiring a QA Engineer to join our retail development team to focus on improving our iOS mobile app. The mission of the team is to leverage the capabilities of our mobile app to help our customers make in-store purchases, and as a result give time back to our in-store colleagues. Youll play a key role in building quality into our product and reducing the time it takes to test and release into the App Store.The ideal candidate would have experience working within a multi-disciplinary team to build solutions that offer real business value, pushing left on quality and able to coach on better practices based on continuous improvement and working to deliver as a team.Weve been going through a digital transformation, changing how we deliver value to our business. A big part of this change is fostering a culture of fun, honest and inclusive behaviour, enabling psychology safety and creating a place for teams to do their best work.The Team The team is made up of a delivery manager, a product owner, designers and software engineers. We like to keep our teams small enough that they become a unit of delivery, but large enough that people can pair and mob on tasks and knowledge can be shared out.There are times when youll be making sure that regression testing is performed on an app release, and others when youll be looking to add UI automation testing to the iOS app using XCUITest. Youll also be involved in creating a fast feedback loop based on user testing and prototyping alongside our designers, reducing the time it takes to deliver new versions into our users hands. We also swarm on issues with the wider teams if required using the equivalent of an Andon cord so people are alerted to, and team up on fixes together. Well also invest in you as a person, making sure that you get to learn and progress, building up skills that will help you on your career path as a QA engineer.About You Within your current organisation, you look to add quality into systems, creating safety throughout the software development lifecycle. You support those around you, youre constantly learning and work in a kind, considerate and collaborative manner with a keen interest in new ways of working.Were looking for someone with experience as a QA engineer working on mobile applications, with a real focus on iOS, so you should have a good knowledge of testing frameworks such as XCTest, XCUITest, Appium or Calabash, and appreciate the idiosyncratic nature of app testing. You see the value in test-driven development, knowing what to automate, and making your work open and supporting your colleagues career progression as we try and create meaningful change at Footasylum based on working together.The technologies you should be comfortable using are XCode, Swift and consuming and testing REST APIs. Youll also have worked with testing in the cloud, using services such as App Center or SauceLabs to simulate UI tests across multiple devices.Were offering up to £40,000 for the right person, which we assess based on your own experiences, technical skills and against the principles of our department and our ways of working.Diversity We recognise and value the importance of diversity to help make sure we have lots of different perspectives when we are building products and services.
