Job Description

This position involves working with a team in the Strategy, Analysis and Communications department to engage with and manage stakeholder relationships within the public and private sector. The Public Affairs and Engagement Officer will be responsible fordeveloping and implementing engagement strategies, ensuring effective communication, and promoting transparency within my clients organisation.Client DetailsThe employer is a significant player in the public sector. Based in the North of England, the organisation employs over 500 staff. It is committed to promoting sustainable transport solutions and has an influential role in policy-making and strategic planning.Description

  • Leading the development and implementation of public affairs and engagement strategies.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and communicating effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Overseeing the creation of policy briefings, consultation responses, and other relevant materials.
  • Working closely with the policy team to identify opportunities for engagement.
  • Ensuring the organisations views and positions are accurately represented in public discourse.
  • Promoting transparency and trust within the organisation and its stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the impact of engagement activities.
  • Supporting team members and fostering a positive work environment.
ProfileA successful Public Affairs and Engagement Officer should have:
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Public Relations, or Political Science.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a policy team.
  • A strong understanding of the public sector and its key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to develop and implement effective engagement strategies.
  • Experience in managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience of working in transport policy will be helpful.Job Offer
  • A competitive salary in the range of £39,442 to £48,430 per annum.
