Job Description

Location: Flexible location in England (the successful candidate will initially work from home due to Covid restrictions and will thereafter be based from one of our office locations in England)Hours per week: 14hrs over x 2 days (Ideally Thursdays and Fridays)Contract type: Fixed Term Contract until the End of March 2022Salary: Up to £42,735 per annum pro rata, dependent on experience , plus Inner London Weighting of £3,344 per annum pro rata if applicableCould you provide psychosocial support to staff and volunteers of the British Red Cross in EnglandWhat you will be doingAs a Psychosocial Practitioner, you will provide support to our staff and volunteers who deliver services across England. You will provide psychosocial support in the form of reflective practice, clinical supervision groups and one to one individual support during regular site visits. You will support our UK Operations services, particularly the Family Reintegration Service based within our Refugee and Restoring Family Links Directorate.You will be responsible for providing clinical supervision and supporting the wellbeing needs of the workforce (staff and volunteers) who, in turn support people in crisis.You will also deliver workshops and off-site support, whilst considering the preferences and requests of the local services wishes and the learning of the wider Psychosocial Team.This role may include extensive travel across a specific geographic area, including making overnight stays.This role might be for you if...

  • You will have a relevant mental health qualification (e.g. Postgraduate Degree or other professional qualification) in a profession related to psychosocial support (e.g. Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Psychotherapy or Social Work).
  • You will have proven work experience following receiving the relevant professional qualification (e.g. in-service development, voluntary or statutory sector, either in U.K. or overseas)
  • You have experience and professional expertise in trauma reactions, mental health issues and the management and negotiation of complex situations involving staff/volunteer welfare
