Job Description

COMPANY IS NORTHWEST-BASED.DescriptionThe purpose of the Project Manager role is to ensure that assigned projects, programmes or frameworks are delivered within time, cost and quality constraints, while adhering to project management best practice. They will seek to identify and exploit opportunitiesfor new business and contribute to improvement efforts across the division(s).The Project Manager will be seconded within a specific division/team, where they will take ownership for the management and delivery of specific projects, working closely with the technical leads and project team members.

  1. Demonstrate expert knowledge of the full project lifecycle, including but not limited to project planning & delivery, stakeholder management, risk management and financial management.
  2. Effectively project manage multiple small- and large-scale projects and frameworks, with multidiscipline, multi-location teams, ensuring the successful coordination of activity across teams and divisions.
  3. Ensure all output and deliverables are produced to the highest standard, in line with timescales and specifications agreed with the client, within budget and profit targets, and to the highest technical quality.
  4. Demonstrate excellent project control through effectively managing risks, issues and change to ensure project delivery within agreed parameters.
  5. Successfully manage client relationships, ensuring clients are well informed through regular project related communication, and wider account management activities
  6. Develop excellent relationships with stakeholders, both internal across the organisation and externally to ensure smooth running of projects and business activities
  7. Ensure adherence to project management best practice methodologies and governance mechanisms
  8. Ensure that all relevant project systems and records are accurately completed and kept up to date
  9. Support business development by maintaining and extending client relationships and identifying and progressing opportunities for new work.
  10. Contribute to the development of tenders to win new business through close working with individuals, teams and external organisations, coordinating others output and developing content such as costings, scope and project/programme plans.
  11. Provide project management and other related training, coaching & support to colleagues to improve project execution and delivery
  12. Support improvement across the organisation, through identifying, recommending and supporting implementation of improvements.
Profile
  • PRINCE2 or equivalent qualification
  • Change Management qualification advantageous
  • Significant experience of managing and successfully delivering a range of projects, advantageous to have done so in a consultancy environment
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and relationship management skills, including negotiation, persuasion and motivation at all levels
  • Excellent written communications skills, including developing project updates, reports and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Adept at analysing data and information to identify improvement opportunities
  • Experience of developing and delivering training
  • Self motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Positive attitude and a passion for improving efficiency and quality
  • Strong Excel skills
