* Newly created role* Flexible working* Progression opportunitiesRole: Project Accountant (ACA/ACCA)Location: ChorleySalary: circa £50,000 - £60,000 Benefits:, Bonus, flexi-timeSummary:Medlock Partners are delighted to be exclusively partnering our client, a successful 60 million turnover SME business based in the Lancashire area as they look to appoint an operationally focused Project Accountant in a newly created role.As our client enjoys a sustained period of organic year on year growth, they require an individual to work closely with the Executive Board and proactively drive the agenda for project implementation across the business.Reporting directly into the Managing Director, the successful candidate will also support the Finance Director in reviewing the effectiveness of the internal controls, identifying areas for improvement and driving performance/change.Main Responsibilities* Leading business project implementations, including initial scoping, project planning, implementation and embedding new solutions in the business.* Auditing operational procedures and processes and production reports to management with findings and recommendations for improvement* Playing a pivotal part in reviewing controls and establishing new financial and operational controls* Creating standard operating procedures* Supporting managers across the business in achieving sound financial controls.Key skills and experience* A qualified ACA/ACCA accountant, with a strong background in auditing* IT literate, with advanced excel skills* Have a sound knowledge of financial and operational controls* Be a dynamic self starter who enjoys the challenge of multi tasking* Possess excellent people management skills; comfortable in collaborating with other departments and an ability to present financial information to a non financial audience* Be highly numerate and commercially minded, with strong strategic planning skills* Adept at seeing tasks from inception to completion* Inquisitive and detail orientated* Have experience of project planning and implementing projects* Happy to "muck in" and stay close to the detail* Have a strong ability to analyse large complex data* Experience of writing reports and making internal control recommendations* Be comfortable in working across all areas of the businessPriding themselves on their down to earth and friendly business culture, our client is looking for a practice/audit trained finance professional who is willing to immerse themselves within the business by proactively developing relationships with senior managementand operations.
