Job Description

Product developer £18-£19k13 MONTHS fixed term contract - Ardwick This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to join our growing product development team to gain some valuable experience. We are looking for someone with a can do attitude and a willingness to grow and learn as business evolves. To work effectively with suppliers and internally to ensure all garments are consistently produced to the highest quality and fit standards.9.00 - 5.00pm Mon- Wed (1/2 hr lunch each day)9.00 - 4.30pm Thursdays9.00 - 3.00pm FridaysThere may be times when work is required to get a job done, beyond these core hours.

  • Be a point of contact for factories on all product related matters
  • Liaise as necessary with internal sales teams on product changes or updates. Maintain an excellent level of communication where necessary.
  • Monitor the quality and performance standards consistently across the whole supply base.
  • Pro-actively address non-conformance issues and co-ordinate corrective action.
  • Create, update and maintain product tech packs, including size specs
  • Ensure all proto, pre-production, production, final samples and inspection reports are approved and on time
  • Work with the product development manager to investigate new product, and constantly improving current product
  • Communicate all fit, quality and construction requirements to suppliers
  • Run the lab dip approvals to ensure continuity within the range
  • Maintain the colour standards for all raw materials
  • Familiarize yourself with the quality manual and ensure the information is maintained.
  • Control/inspect the quality of goods arriving in the UK warehouse and report to suppliers or wider business when required
  • Ensure all factories conform to company standards, socially and ethically
  • Investigate customer quality issues, and implement any corrective actions required to the point of completion.
  • Ensure products comply with the latest legal requirements

  • Ability to apply garment tech knowledge and experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work to deadlines and meet targets
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • Desirable criteria
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop
  • Negotiating skills
  • Understanding of pattern / grading
  • Understanding of factory set up / travel abroad
