Job Description

Tradewind are recruiting! We are looking for an experienced Year 6 Teacher for a fantastic role in the South Manchester area.On behalf of our partner school, we are currently recruiting an outstanding Primary Teacher for a Year 6 role at a very popular school in Manchester, south of the city centre. The role will start in April 2021 and you will be required for a minimum of 2 terms, so the school will be looking for a commitment until at least December 2021. This is to cover a maternity leave so depending on the teachers return, the role could be extended into 2022. The salary for this role will be competitive and will be based on your experience and suitability for the role.As the Year 6 Teacher, you will be working in a 2-form, Ofsted rated Outstanding school in a popular suburb of South Manchester. You will be working within a school which has a strong child centred culture and is very popular within the local area. This school is surrounded by the areas of Fallowfield, Levenshulme and Withington and has excellent transport links in and out Manchester City Centre and other areas of Greater ManchesterAs the Year 6 Teacher, you will be taking on this position at a crucial time of the academic year. This school has consistently strong SATS results. Due to the current pandemic you will not be required to support your class through SATS this year, but you will be responsible for bridging the learning gap in preparation for next year.Your main responsibilities will include.

  • Undertake full class teaching responsibilities for a Year 6 class
  • Thoroughly planning lessons for the Year 6 class, making full use of resources that are available to you.
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils, as well as their personal and social needs.
  • Teaching a balanced curriculum and ensuring that each child fulfils his or her potential by providing high levels of teaching standards.
    • As the schools Year 6 Teacher, you will have full access to the schools in house CPD as well as the support of an established senior leadership team.Essential requirements:
  • Fully qualified Teacher Status
  • A minimum of 2 Years of teaching experience in the United Kingdom
  • Experience in Keys Stage 2 is essential in this role
  • The school have specified that a specialism in a core subject would be beneficial in this role.
