Job Description

Join us as a Portfolio Manager

  • Take on a critical role managing a portfolio to realise the strategic objectives of the function and the bank
  • Youll manage the design and change resource allocation across Transformation ensuring prioritised projects are delivered in line with expectations

What youll doAs a Portfolio Manager, youll own the BAU data funnel interacting with the C&I businesses and D&A to ensure delivery of key data components within allocated budget. Working with stakeholders to ensure the Transformation budget and reporting is undertaken inline with or exceeding expectations and targets, youll deliver the Transformation governance agenda focusing on programs, investment and cost components of the Transformation team. In addition, youll manage an investment portfolio to realise strategic objectives of the function and the bank by providing investment planning, transformation portfolio and design services, and partnering with a range of stakeholders to make sure an effectivepipeline view of investment requirements is maintained, used, and kept under regular review. Youll also be responsible for increasingly complex and critical elements of the portfolio. Day-to-day, youll:
  • Define, create and manage a multi-year strategic investment plan and make sure that it incorporates requirements of the budget
  • Provide cost-benefit forecasts for current and future years, aligning to the strategic priorities
  • Define and develop a portfolio structure to provide appropriate governance, control and management of programme and business-wide interdependencies
  • Conduct regular reviews of the investment portfolio, challenge the status quo, and drive informed decision making about portfolio priorities
  • Manage the review and approval process of the financial business case
  • Define relevant, timely and accurate MI reporting to assist with the optimisation of strategic investment
The skills youll needAlong with the ability to bring diverse teams and people together at all levels in the bank, through positive influencing skills, to deliver, youll also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and customers.Youll also need an appropriate portfolio management qualification. Youll also demonstrate:
  • Knowledge and experience of portfolio management theories, models and practices
  • Experience of delivering programmes in a global workforce, including working with suppliers and partners in a managed services model
  • Experience of delivering portfolio management in a technology and IT function
  • Critical thinking skills, enabling you to cut through complexity, and make sound decisions and recommendations that are carefully balanced against risk
