Job Description

Plush DesignerRemote / HybridHighly competitive salary Are you a Plush Designer Do you want to see your work on the shelves of some of the worlds biggest retailersI am working with a fun, vibrant toy business who are seeking a Plush Designer to join their rapidly expanding team. This role can be offered on a remote or hybrid basis - the Head Office is based in the North West.Key Tasks:

  • New product ideas - plush - and concepts generation;
  • Creation of sketches and visuals and of each product plus related graphics and specifications - not packaging;
  • Follow up of all phases of product development, from conceptualisation to industrialisation;
  • Liaise with the Studio in Hong Kong and with UK-based Product Managers;
  • Liaise with external Vendors and Factories - may require occasional traveling to China.
Required Skills:
  • Qualification in Design or any related discipline;
  • Strong hands on design experience in plush toys - experience in plush with electronics is a major plus;
  • Excellent styling and colour sense, as well as strong understanding of plush design for manufacturing - technical requirements and materials;
  • Experience and ability to work in all phases of product development, from conceptualisation to final prototype stage;
  • Strong in sketching, ideas and concepts generation;
  • Proficiency in paper-pattern making;
  • Extensive knowledge of plush and textile materials, inclusive of their respective manufacturing processes;
  • Proficiency in 2D software packages such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, etc…
  • Familiar with MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Proactive, reliable, willing to learn and able to work under pressure on multiple projects at once;
  • Has a keen interest in any sort design-related topic and is very passionate about toys in general;
  • A good team player with excellent interpersonal skills, yet independent and self-motivated;
  • Capable to work within tight deadlines.
