Job Description

Platform DeveloperLocation: Manchester with one day working from homeSalary: Basic salary of £50KSector: eCommerceFounded in 2015 off the back of a worldwide rise in eCommerce, the business we are representing is an exciting and disruptive name within the Fintech space that work alongside a wide array of highly reputable UK businesses to give customers a revolutionary incentives system that rewards brand loyalty.Catering to over a million users across the UK, the trailblazing firm have been able to quickly establish themselves as a prominent voice across the sector through a wide variety of high-profile contract wins that include partnerships with Waitrose, Argos and Caffe Nero to name just a few.As our client enters a new stage of rapid commercialisation and additional platform growth, they are looking to enhance their team further through the addition of a passionate and enterprising Platform Developer.Key Responsibilities:

  • Frequently develop exceptional software and deliver high-quality product features to customers
  • Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design.
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of system infrastructures and provide feature refinements
  • Construct clean and effective code
  • Independently design robust, scalable and secure APIs
  • Play an integral role within all phases of the client’s platform development lifecycles
  • Continually build yourself up as a consummate professional through your adherents to brand best practices (TDD/BDD, CI, peer reviews, pair programming, SCRUM)
    • Candidate requirements:
  • Demonstrable communications skills to a wide variety of individuals
  • Possess a strong desire to develop your professional resume alongside a leading brand
  • Background in RESTful API design
  • Exemplary experience in PHP 7 with Symfony or a similar modern PHP framework or Node with Serverless, AWS Lambda or a similar environment
  • Up to date knowledge of Testing strategies such as TDD or BDD
  • Experience using SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres)
  • Working knowledge of enterprise development patterns such as message busses, eventual consistency, CQRS, DDD and Hexagonal Architecture (preferable but not desired)
  • Some knowledge of Amazon Web Services or other cloud platforms
