Job Description

Plant Diesel FitterTrafford ParkPermanent positionHours, 7am - 4pm, Mon - Fri (Callouts may be required)Salary £38,000pa.We have a rare opportunity for an experience Plant Diesel Fitter located in the Trafford Park area for a well-established engineering company. As a Plant Diesel Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance of plant machinery and ensuring the workshopis managed effectively and efficiently at all times whilst adhering to statutory and regulatory requirements.Role and responsibilities

  • Carrying out maintenance, servicing, repairs and inspection on all plant machinery such as planers, pavers, excavators and vib rollers, this can be both on and off-site and include mechanical and non - mechanical plants along with specialist equipment
  • Raising workshop jobs, ensuring these are added to the system with relevant details of all jobs including hours, parts, service maintenance and repair work
  • Following all company processes and procedures at all times and Health and Safety
  • Carry out stock management, reporting any issues and delays that may occur
  • Ensuring parts are available prior to begin any maintenance on plants
  • Requesting purchase orders to be raised for parts and liaising with transport Manager on stock holding suggestions
  • Ensure all damage repairs are reported and photographic evidence is provided
  • Ensure all documentation is recorded for all work completed
  • Ensure correct PPE is used at all times
Skills and experience
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Good working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrics and fault finding
  • Experience of working on plant machinery
  • Management experience of a workshop environment
  • Attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst working off own initiative
