Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced and skilled Planning Technician to assist in providing support to the Planning & Development Service for our local government client based in Manchester.The Planning Technician will be be responsible for responding to planning related enquiries; logging and uploading representations from the public to DMS / Website (redaction / GDPR); logging and uploading consultation responses to DMS / Website(redaction / GDPR) and validating applications for works to protected trees.They will be responsible for sending out planning application decision notices, production and distribution of weekly plans list and the preparation and arrangement of weekly press advertisements.Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of working within a planning environment
  • Experience of the preparation and printing of planning related documents including checking for GDPR and redaction as required
  • Hold an excellent understanding of the planning system
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to working as part of a team and be able to work on own initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Experience of IDOX uniform is desirable.
