Job Description

Role: Planning EngineersLocation: Manchester / hybrid modelSalary: £50,000-£60,000k Please note roles are available in:

  • Rail Civils
  • Rail Ancillary Civils
  • Rail OLE Planning
Due to continued growth through strong contract wins my client is looking to add several Planning Engineers to their team. The company, a well-known brand and successful Consultancy in the Rail market, known for its innovative and solutions driven culturerepresents not only a good move to enhance your professional portfolio but does so in a positive and progressive culture that provides a great platform in which to grow as a professional.Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for delivery of the designated Project Programme(s) in accordance with Client requirements
  • Provide innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence to ensure time efficient, exemplary quality outputs in terms of schedules, reporting, etc.
  • The ability to deliver Project Schedules at various GRIP stages, developing from first principles and ensuring the schedules are maintained effectively
  • Build and maintain long lasting Client relationships, providing "best in class" service
Experience
  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant planning experience.
  • Relevant experience in the successful delivery of projects in the relevant field in a Rail industry environment ideally.
  • Experienced in all aspects of Planning, including development, management, and delivery of detailed Level 6 Project Programmes:
    • Competent user of Primavera P6
    • Developing schedules from first principles
    • Ability to understand and utilise CAD drawings/ specifications/ schedules to facilitate build-up of the Project Programme
    • Cost and Resource Loading/ management/ forecasting
    • KPIs/ Contract Milestone identification, allocation, and management
    • Management and Analysis of the Critical Path(s)
    • Foundation understanding of Risk Analysis and Management within the programme
    • Exposure to change analysis/ implementation within the working programme
    • Earned Value Management experience i.e., analysis of project performance, development of dashboards and outputs
    • Production of hour-by-hour schedules
    • Understand the principles behind "access Planning"
    • Understand principles behind the QSRA
  • HND or equivalent in Engineering.
  • Awareness of EVM and respective EVM Software (e.g., Power BI).
  • Experience in NEC Contracts.
