Role: Payroll SpecialistSalary: NegotiableLocation: Office based, StockportType: PermanentMy client is an award winning business based in Stockport who are on the lookout for a Payroll Specialist to join the team. Your day to day role will be Payroll, but they are looking for someone who is an all rounder and can handle some of the Accounts Payableduties and do day to day tasks.Responsibilities include:• Prepare and process payroll for a high volume of employees every fortnight.• Accurately calculate staff hours, salaries, overtime, bonuses, taxes/NI, and other deductions.• Input and maintain precise employee payroll records while ensuring data integrity..• Verify timesheets, leave records, and attendance information.• Calculate and process statutory deductions, including income tax, National Insurance, and pension contributions/administration.• Assist with year-end payroll processes, including P60s and P11Ds.• Complete P45s, P46s, and other related administration within the correct time allocation periods.• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide excellent customer service.• Stay up-to-date with UK payroll regulations and ensure compliance.• Support the finance team in various ad-hoc tasks and projects.• Provide monthly statistical data reports to the Head of HR.• Compile and submit salary survey data.• Maintain absolute discretion and maturity in handling sensitive/confidential data in line with the GDPR.• Administer Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay, and Statutory Paternity Pay alongside our enhanced benefits.• Administer benefits schemes such as the company auto-enrolment pension scheme, childcare vouchers, and cycle schemes.What you’ll need:• Previous experience in Payroll is essential.• Accounts Payable experience/ Purchase Ledger.• Must be familiar with payroll software systems to efficiently do the job.• A thorough understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and PAYE procedures is necessary.• Must have proficiency in maintaining organized payroll records and documents for auditing and reporting purposes.• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, are necessary to accurately answer queries.• Must be skilled at identifying potential payroll discrepancies and addressing them proactively.
