A leading retail company based near Manchester Airport are looking for a Payroll and Pensions Specialist to join their team. This role could be temporary to permanent or a permanent role in the first instance dependent on the successful candidates availability.Key responsibilities:* Process weekly payrolls by entering any additions or deductions on Kronos, running extracts, pre-commits and gross pay reports for colleagues to check, then committing and approving with ADP* Making weekly payroll adjustments including night pay, shift pay, meal adjustments, weekend working and holiday shifts* Calculating all weekly sickness absence payments, compiling paperwork and entering data* Running weekly payroll comparison reports* Running weekly Regional and Heathrow sick reports and absence reports for HR* Run weekly Attachment of Earnings report and send child maintenance information to DWP* Running weekly WTD and harmonisation reports for Finance* Compile regular union deduction reports and issue to unions as required* Provide 2nd line specialist support for pay or pension queries* Liaise with the pension provider to facilitate increases in auto-enrolment contributions and re-enrolment of opt outs* Report and analyse NMW increases or cessation of NI contributions on birthdays* Check and sign off monthly payroll* Support the Payroll Manager in stakeholder management, forming relationships with Kronos, ADP, Pension and Benefit providers* Assist with payroll projects, data validation and correction exercises* Facilitate knowledge sharing within the team and keep up-to-date with latest payroll and pension legislation* Support and coach the Payroll Administrators in responding to queries and managing challenges * Cover for the Payroll Manager and Payroll Administrators in their absencesWhat you will need:* Minimum Grade C in GCSE Maths or equivalent* Pension knowledge and auto-enrolment knowledge* Previous experience managing monthly and weekly high volume payrolls * Experience of manual calculations of SSP, SMP, SPP* Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel* Ideally used ADP solutions previously although not essential* Excellent attention to detail* Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high degree of diligence and accuracy* Strong communication skills* Outstanding team player* Demonstration of initiative and analytical problem solving* Coaching skillsIn return you will receive a salary of £27000, 33 days holiday and flexible working.Please contact Beth Dalton, Recruitment Consultant, to discuss the role in more detail or apply through the vacancy for immediate consideration.Douglas Scott are a regulated recruitment consultancy and will discuss this role and seek your approval before submitting an application directly to the decision maker.Please see our website www.douglas-scott.co.uk for more finance roles.
