Job Description

Payables and Receivables Officer£23,000- £26,000Temporary, Full-timeManchester Payables and Receivables Officer required to join a public sector organisation on a full-time temporary basis. My client is looking for an ambitious and highly motivated individual who is an experienced Payables and Receivables Officer to join their dynamicand fast moving finance function.As the Payables and Receivables Officer you will report into the Financial Services Team Leader and support the delivery of the organisations core accounting operations, alongside the various duties below;Key responsibilities of thePayables and Receivables Officer

  • Log and process invoices and credit notes
  • Support the preparation of weekly BACS payment via the online banking system
  • Reconcile supplier statements to the purchase ledger on a monthly basis
  • Post journal entries before the ledger close down
  • Reconcile receivables accounts and transactions on a timely basis
  • Allocate receipts to specific receivables invoices
  • Carry out any ad-hoc administrative duties as required
Required skills and experience of thePayables and Receivables Officer
  • At least 2 years experience in a general finance operation (desired)
  • Able to undertake routine accountancy work with minimum supervision
  • Accounts and general ledger skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • High level of organisational skills
  • High level of analytical skills
